Trainer B Certification Program - Riding
The Trainer B Program is the second step for the developing trainer/instructor in the German Sport Federation's licensing training program for Equestrian Teachers and Trainers. As in the Trainer C Program, it is also possible to focus on your area of personal interest in the Trainer B Certification Program. Candidates are eligible to apply for and complete this program after their 18th birthday, with proof of a Trainer C certificate, and one (1) year experience teaching in the equestrian field.
Trainer B Certification Program- Riding
NON-COMPETITIVE OR RECREATIONAL
Requirements of applicant:
- Membership in your National Equestrian Association(i.e., USEF, USDF, USCTA)
- A minimum of 18 years old
- Proof of sound character - criminal background check
- Successful completion of the Trainer C Certification Program
- Proof of employment for minimum of one (1) year after completion of the Trainer C Program
| Note: | The director of the school Westfälische Reit und Fahrschule has the final decision on an applicant's participation within one of the Trainer Programs as well as within the examination. |
Test Requirements:
The Trainer B Program - recreational: Primarily focuses on the instructor's capability to prepare and conduct lessons. The applicant can choose which area he/she would like to specialize in: General riding, Beginners, Teens, or Trail Riding. The content of this course is based on the special goal of the lesson, using the framework of the following:
- Practical riding
- Planning the lesson
- Conducting a mock lesson
- Comments and Feedback
- Homework

COMPETITIVE:
Requirements of applicant for testing:
- Membership in your National Equestrian Association (i.e., USEF, USDF, USCTA)
- A minimum of 18 years old
- Proof of sound character - criminal background check
- Successful completion of the Trainer C Program
- Have the DRA III performance medal in Jumping & Dressage or an equivalent qualification from the applicant's National Equestrian Association, subject to approval
- Have earned competitive placings in first level dressage and/or jumping classes min. 3 feet
- Proof of employment for minimum of one (1) year after completion of the Trainer C Program

Test Requirements:
The Trainer B Certification Program - Competitive: primarily focuses on teaching. The instructor may select which discipline they prefer to concentrate on, e.g., Dressage, Jumping, Eventing, Training Young Horses. The content of this course will center on the specific goals of a riding lesson, using the framework of the following:
- Practical riding approximately 2nd level dressage and 3' jumping
- Planning the lesson
- Conducting the lesson
- Comments and Feedback
- Homework
The Course
The Course will last a minimum of eight (8) days and is required before applicant is tested.
